- 1.WHY SHOULD I WAX INSTEAD OF SHAVE?Author: Lee Anderson 30.08.15More
When hair is shaved, within a few days, the hair can be seen at the surface of the skin and coarse stubble can be felt. Shaving commonly results in ingrown hairs, bumps and ongoing skin irritation. When waxed, hair grows back slower, softer and without stubble. When appropriate post-waxing home care is followed, waxing leaves virtually no ingrown hairs, bumps or ongoing skin irritation. Waxing will, over time, make hair growth finer, and hair will become less in volume; but there will always be some re-growth.Was this answer helpful ? Yes (1) / No (0)Viewed 6 Times No Comments
- 2.DOES WAXING REALLY THAT HURT?Author: Lee Anderson 30.08.15More
It all depends: your first time receiving a body waxing can be uncomfortable because after shaving for years, the hair grows extremely coarse. The more frequently you receive body waxes the more the hair will begin to grow thinner. Removing hair directly from the follicle is never comfortable; but, since Monika is highly skilled, it is likely that your waxing experience will be more comfortable than most. If you are especially sensitive to pain or you are first-time waxing client, you may want to take an anti-inflammatory (such as Ibuprofen) 1 hour before your appointment, or you can apply numbing cream 45 minutes prior to service. With continuous waxing, hair becomes finer and sparser, and waxing becomes more comfortable. Was this answer helpful ? Yes (1) / No (1)Viewed 7 Times No Comments
- 3.WHAT IS A BRAZILIAN WAXING?Author: Lee Anderson 30.08.15More
For a WOMEN Brazilian is the waxing of everything from the vagina, including the labia, to the anus. Not one hair is left standing and having your legs up in the air, now, turn over and stick your rump in the air to get your anus waxed. Every esthetician/waxer may have different positions and different angles for you to be in…but it’s all the same. For a MEN Brazilian is the waxing of everything including the penis, the sac and the anus. You will have to bend over. Some men will experience an ERECTION, but typically men don’t because this isn’t exactly a pleasurable experience. Don’t worry if you do have an erection, that’s when you can more easily wax the shaft. For BOTH, this is not a hand off sport and not a time to decide that you are SHY. You will need to help pull the skin taut, move the penis from side to side, move and hold the labia, etc. Your waxer should be experienced by letting you know what needs to be done and be reassuring when you need it.Was this answer helpful ? - 4.HOW MUCH DOES WAXING HURT?Author: Lee Anderson 30.08.15More
Well it is a little uncomfortable when it comes over the sensitive areas! But as soon as it is over…it is over, but depends on the customer. I think the anticipation is the worst. I always try to talk with customers, keeping their minds busy with fun conversation. That way, they don’t concentrate on the pain. Was this answer helpful ? Yes (2) / No (0)Viewed 5 Times No Comments
- 5.HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET A BRAZILIAN?
- 6.HOW DO I PREPARE BEFORE GETTING A BRAZILIAN WAX?Author: Lee Anderson 30.08.15More
Was this answer helpful ? Yes (1) / No (0)Viewed 7 Times No Comments
- LET THE HAIRS GROW FOR ABOUT TWO WEEKS BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT.
- If the hairs are very long, trim them to 1/4inch. This ensures a faster, much less uncomfortable procedure and cleaner, smoother results.
- If you have time prior to your appointment, please shower so that hairs are easily to be picked up by wax.
- 7.FIRST TIME HAVING A BRAZILIAN?Author: Lee Anderson 30.08.15More
Expect a little skin irritation. If you get waxed regularly, your skin will become accustomed and you should not have the irritation. If you only do it once or twice a year expect to go through this each time. It is normal to get tiny whiteheads after your first or second time of being waxed. This too shall pass if you keep waxing. Just lightly exfoliate with scrub to avoid pore blockage after 24 hours and use either soothing lotion for a couple days. Was this answer helpful ? Yes (2) / No (0)Viewed 8 Times No Comments
- 8.EXFOLIATE, EXFOLIATE, EXFOLIATE!!– Tips to ingrown hairsAuthor: Lee Anderson 30.08.15More
Starting 2 to 3 days after being waxed…exfoliate at least 2 to 3 times per week in the shower. Exfoliation will help get rid of the dead skin cells and help “lift” the hairs growing out. Pubic hairs are curly, and will either come out and grow right back into the skin or will try to embed themselves under the layers of dead skin cells. Either way, your skin does not recognize them as being part of your body…it views them as invaders, just like a splinter and will send the antibodies there to try to destroy it. You can also get yourselves a great pair of pointed tweezers…not to pluck, but to lift the ends of the hairs out. It is very important that you do not pluck or shave in between waxing if you want optimum results! A body brush is recommended. There are also products on the market such as organic scrub which can also aid in bumps and ingrown hairs.
- 9.DOES WAXING CAUSE INGROWN HAIRS?Author: Lee Anderson 30.08.15More
No. Waxing prevents ingrown hairs. Some women have serious problems with ingrown hairs, though, so it doesn’t matter what kind of depilation you use on them. One way to prevent ingrown hairs is to use a pumice stone with organic scrub to exfoliate waxing area to avoid dead cells accumulated. Was this answer helpful ? - 10.HOW OFTEN DO I NEED TO GET WAXED?Author: Lee Anderson 30.08.15More
Typically you will need to get waxed every 4 to 6 weeks…go any sooner and you will remove some of the hairs but not all of them which will throw off your waxing schedule and will not give you clean wax results. Let it grow too long and you may need to trim but this will also be a little bit more painful. But still it depends on how fast your hair grows. That varies from person to person. Was this answer helpful ? Yes (1) / No (0)Viewed 4 Times No Comments
- 11.WHAT WAX SHOULD BE USED?
- 12.WHAT STEPS ARE TAKEN TO GET THE BRAZILIAN WAX DONE?Author: Lee Anderson 30.08.15More
After cleaning the area to be waxed and dusting it with powder, was is applied a little at a time. We apply our organic hard on sensitive areas and soft wax on bigger area with muslin strips to remove quickly. I apply a special calming lotion / oil to the area, which reduces redness, soothes and softens, and acts as a natural antiseptic. Was this answer helpful ? Yes (1) / No (0)Viewed 6 Times No Comments
- 13.WHEN WILL THE REDNESS BE COMPLETELY GONE?
- 14.WHY IS WAXING BETTER THAN OTHER FORMS OF DEPILATION?Author: Lee Anderson 30.08.15More
Everytime you get waxed, your hairs become weaker, making the process easier and faster over time. It is fast, and the skin looks and feels softer as well as lasts longer than after any other method of depilation.
- 15.CAN I DO A BRAZILIAN AT HOME?Author: Lee Anderson 30.08.15More
Not a great idea unless you are already an experienced waxer. Being inexperienced can lead to bruising and/or the loss of skin. Let a professional do it. But if you feel like you must try it…practice on your upper leg first until you get the hang of it and feel confidant putting hot wax on your genital area. Was this answer helpful ? - 16.HOW SHOULD I TAKE CARE OF MY SKIN AFTER WAXING?Author: Lee Anderson 30.08.15More
After waxing, avoid tanning and extended sun exposure for 48 hours. You will want to avoid hot showers or baths, sauna and steam room use immediately following the service. Scented lotions, perfumes, or colognes should be avoided for 48 hours.
Don’t allow direct heat on the skin for at least 24hrs after waxing: sunbathing, solarium, hot shower, sauna or steam room use. This can traumatize & burn new skin, as the dead skin layer has been removed with the hairs during waxing.
We also want the pores to close, not open. Use a tea-tree based oil on the waxed area – it is a natural antiseptic and will help reduce the likelihood of getting ingrown hairs & small pimples (follictilitus). Exfoliate with a pumice stone with organic scrub, but only when the skin has calmed down after waxing and the new growth begins to penetrate. This could take from 4 to 7 days. Don’t use deodorant, perfumes or alcohol-based products for at least 24 hours after waxing. It is recommended to use sun protection lotion for the 1st day after the waxing, to avoid hyper-pigmentation.
