Consider micro-needling to lighten up those stubborn scars on your face or to enable skin rejuvenation. There is only so much that topical products such as cremes, can do on their own and they may not be enough to manage current breakouts and wrinkling. With the use of micro-needling, it will enhance the absorption of topical products. If you are struggling to get rid of acne or lightening up marks, micro-needling could be an option for you.
Microneedling is a minimally invasive and safe method to minimize:
- wrinkles
- acne
- scarring and marks
The procedure consists of using fine needles to puncture the epidermis (the third most outer layer of the skin) and micro-wounds are created to stimulate the growth of collagen. Improving collagen growth is essential for better skin texture, reducing wrinkles and filling in fine lines.
You should expect that each micro-needling session to be between 30 minutes – 60 minutes long depending on your treatment. Our licensed esthetician will recommend how many sessions you should come in for and what your treatment plan consists of. Those who use the method of micro-needling do experience swelling and redness on their face but after 24 hours the soreness and redness will reduce.
Although micro-needling is suitable for various skin types, there are individuals that we do not recommend this method for and that includes the following:
- Persons with diabetes,
- Use of blood thinners,
- Have scarring tissue in a certain area such as keloids,
- Autoimmune diseases etc.
We always recommend consulting with your doctor first if you have any concerns.
